Program Ambassador

Time Required: 2 hours / week

  • Budget development

  • Workshop coordination

  • PPT creation

  • Photo sorting

  • Email interviews with MSR and PTG community

  • Find farmers markets held in the Sendai area

  • Find farmers markets held in the Tokyo area

  • Design and layout support (optional)


Membership Development Manager

Time Required: 1.5 hours / week

  • Decide on membership details i.e perks, price points, follow up methods

  • Decide and support method to support PTG in reporting to members

  • Support email communication to new and random requests

  • Get to know our mailing list recipients

  • Donate one Saturday every other month for a long brunch and brainstorming session


News Coordinator

TIME REQUIRED: 2 HOURS / WEEK

  • Editing articles

  • Proofreading

  • Research for interesting leads or volunteers to interview

  • Research for interesting trivia

  • Support promotion of newsletter

  • Interview all sponsors and partners (via email)


Social Media Coordinator

TIME REQUIRED: 2 HOURS / WEEK

  • Post pictures with taglines and calls-to-action 3-5 times per week.

  • Share updates regarding PTG work that our online members post on personal walls, etc.

  • Post questions and trivia related to volunteering

  • Donate one evening every 3 months to marketing training session


Training Officer

TIME REQUIRED: 2 HOURS / WEEK

  • Create PPT question and answers

  • Create training invitations

  • Support onsite on the day/time of training


Board of Advisors Coordinator

TIME REQUIRED: 1 HOURS / WEEK

  • Organize an annual kick off (where we update on organizational accomplishments and share next steps of action)

  • Organize hands on volun-tourism trips to sites in Tohoku/Kumamoto


Office Coordinator

TIME REQUIRED: 1.5 HOURS / WEEK

  • Create a PTG welcome package.

  • Create a recommended training materials package.

  • Send out annual report to our mailing list


Creative Team

TIME REQUIRED: 2 HOURS / WEEK

  • Website content design and maintenance

  • Create and manage volunteers section on website

  • Manage and develop our story


Partners Team

TIME REQUIRED: 2 HOURS / WEEK

  • Salesforce data management (CRM)

  • Update our partners and sponsors monthly with what activities are on going in Tohoku/Kumamoto and with Tokyo Training.


Recruitment Manager

TIME REQUIRED: 2 HOURS / WEEK

  • Oversee recruitment process, identify and resolve of issues to support smooth growth.  

       Current PTG recruitment process is:

  1. New individual expresses interest in PTG via website or friend.

  2. Volunteer is invited to next Monthly meeting

  3. Volunteer introduction pack is sent (currently basic web information only www.placetogrow-npo.org; Volunteer Manager in CC.)

  4. Volunteer Manager sends introduction letter with registration link (Representative Director in CC).

  5. Representative Director discusses role availability and tasks, to determine interest from new volunteer and cc in direct person responsible (DPR). A DPR is an officer or manager already within the organization i.e. Programs, Website, Training, Partners

  6. New volunteer receives the Volunteers Guidebook + a document that gives an overview of the role he/she has chosen.
    (In CC will be other volunteers who are working on this i.e programs, website, training, partners.)

  7. A 3-way skype or telephone meeting with representative director, new volunteer and current role manager to discuss communication and follow up procedures, outline expectations, schedule and set out clear goals for the year is arranged within the first 3 months.

  8. Meishi are ordered for new volunteer if commitment to 12 months is feasible.
